Dating, a term that was vaguely used around Caleb, at least not since he moved to California from New York. If someone would have told Caleb that he would be dating anyone in high school he would have slapped them upside the head and called them an idiot. My, my how the tables have turned he thought to himself as he still had a loose grip around Jenna’s waist making complete eye contact with her soft and gentle gaze. Caleb clenched his jaw a little as he took a breath in then out, feeling completely at ease with Jenna, just like he did in his previous life with Scarlett.
Jenna was the second person that Caleb completely let himself go with. He never had a family to lean on or count on if he ever needed anything. No siblings, no parents, uncles, aunts, not even a dog. Everything was always fake with Caleb and he served it back twice as hard. It was the only way, in his opinion, that he would get past the bulls*** and that way time would fly by quicker. Another home, another school, and another opportunity to express his carnal desires. Sure he made some friends along the way, but after he left he rarely kept in touch with any of them, and they didn’t either, he assumed it was just a guy thing.
The few friends Caleb knew at Harbour were people he believed would actually have his back if he needed anything. They always bugged him about how much time he spent with Jenna and never scored or how they would end up together but Caleb always shrugged it off and denied it, a defense mechanism if you will. The only thing he knew they would say was how they were right about anything, he knew they wouldn’t start up trouble, mostly because they knew that Caleb was always ready to put his fists up in less than a second. Jenna’s friends were a completely different story, and Caleb, deep down, hoped that she wouldn’t let them get inside her head. If they did, things could end up getting pretty ugly, pretty fast.
”You’re welcome” Caleb said with a slight smirk as Jenna thanked him for his compliment, her laugh turning his smirk into a grin, he enjoyed seeing Jenna happy, honestly. He laughed at her lack of enthusiasm to his suggestion about the rules of their relationship, because in all honesty, he didn’t even know why he brought it up. “You’re right, stupid idea” he said with a slight laugh. “No need to remind you that your boyfriend is a complete idiot” Caleb responded as he rested his head against Jenna’s again, not being able to resist being so close to her as he slid his hands down to intertwine with hers. Oh the way Jenna made Caleb feel…..
