DISTINGUISHING FEATURES - Paxton's height is definitely noticeable, especially from afar. He tends to tower over people, and stands out in the hallways. PERSONAL STYLE - Paxton never bothers with wearing dressy clothes, unless he absolutely has to. Most of the time, he can be found in a simple sweatshirt and jeans. If he's feeling really casual, he'll wear basketball shorts and a tshirt. Right after school, he goes to basketball practice so dressing up isn't something he likes to bother with. Although his family is well off, he doesn't care much for designer clothes. Smaller name brands is what he generally tends to wear, like Hollister or American Eagle. Basketball shoes is his obsession though; he has a growing collection. His blonde hair is short, and he uses gel to style it in a spiky fashion. When he was younger, his brother had just won some sort of honorary thing for an essay he wrote and their neighbor brought over cookie as a gift. Paxton saw they had peanuts in it - which his brother was very allergic to. He was going to tell him, but got angry after his brother started boasting about how intelligent he was and how Paxton wasn't going to get anywhere. Paxton sat back and watched him eat two cookies. It wasn't until his entire face swelled and throat closed did he realize the severity of what he let happen. OVERALL - At first glance, most people would assume that Paxton is just another arrogant jock; for the most part, they would be right. Paxton likes to play the role of a popular, good looking senior boy. He hardly ever socializes with people outside of his social clique, and on occasion will be found antagonizing them. Along with being conceited, he is also manipulative. Paxton uses his charm to persuade others into doing whatever he needs; he doesn't see it as wrong, rather people wanting to follow him. Being extroverted comes naturally since both of his parents are very strong willed people. He enjoys being the team leader even off the basketball court. And when things do not go the way he planned, he gets angry. Little things can set him off because he is awfully impatient. Not to mention, a sore loser. He is fiercely competitive and does not handle losing well. Even though he acts superior to most, Paxton is actually self conscious. While growing up, it was not just his brother that taunted him for his poor grades, but other classmates. When he was very young, Paxton was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; this made school work difficult for him. Because of this, Paxton focused entirely on his strengths which would be sports. He grew popular because of his talents, and people quickly forgot about his weakness in school. His friends forgot, but he didn't. Paxton continued to feel embarrassed about his grades even though he pretended not to care. His pride made him unable to ask for help, causing his grades to sink lower and lower. If one would manage to get past the arrogance and then the insecurities, they would find an actually decent guy. Paxton is a good friend to those he considers close, and doesn't hesitate to defend them. And despite how he seems careless in dating, he does hope to someday meet the right girl and settle down to have a family. He's friendly and can be modest when he wants. THE BACKGROUND, ETHNICITY - Caucasian PARENTS - Father: Kevin - 51 - alive; Mother: Christine - 44 - alive SIBLING(S) - Brother: Preston - 22 - alive PET(S) - Golden retriever: Comet - male OTHER(S) - n/a GENERAL HISTORY - Kevin and Christine were the perfect couple, all of their friends insisted upon it. Christine the doctor and Kevin the lawyer went swimmingly together. When they finally settled down together, it wasn't long before they began to plan for a child, a perfect baby that would complete their family. After several attempts, Christine received the news that she was pregnant with a baby boy. The Fox family could not have been more ecstatic. Baby showers were held, and gifts were given to the expecting parents. Finally, on a warm spring evening, Preston Royce Fox was born. He was everything Kevin and Christine wanted, and more. Preston grew up to be an exceedingly bright and talented boy. Boy four years old, he was reading his parents bedtime stories. Five years later, Preston was being advanced a year early to first grade, but that milestone was overshadowed by other news. Kevin and Christine were expecting a second child. Paxton Fox was not planned, nor wanted. His parents were completely content with their only son, Preston. After all, he was the perfect child. When news of Paxton was given, they were surprised and honestly, disappointed. They did not care to have another child, but were left with the responsibility. Nine months later, Paxton was born. Kevin and Christine could see he was not gifted with the same intelligence as Preston, but did have other talents. Kevin enjoyed watching his son play baseball, soccer, and eventually, basketball. Preston never was coordinated enough to conquer sports, but Parker was clearly blessed with an athletic gene. The Fox brothers had a rivalry as they grew up. Each had their own strengths, both were completely different, but the goal was all the same: they wanted to outshine the other and earn their parents admiration. Preston earned straight As and was the Valedictorian of his class. Paxton climbed the athletic ranks, and was the youngest boy offered to play on the varsity basketball team. The competition was fierce between Preston and Paxton, but it did encourage Paxton's passion for basketball. He trained day after day, determined to be the best there was. When he started high school, most teachers knew him as Preston's little brother. They expected the same academic greatness from him, but quickly saw he was not at all like his brother. Their attitudes changed, but quickly turned back to positive after they saw his statistics for all the basketball games. He was the top scorer of the team. Most teachers cut him some slack, but others refused. Paxton was never as smart as his brother, not even half as intelligent. Preston loved to rub that - and his perfect report cards - in his face, just like Paxton rubbed his basketball trophies in Preston's face. The rivalry only began to subside after Preston left for college, studying to be a surgeon. Paxton was left with his family, content to be away from his brother. The only time they had any contact was during those dreaded weekends Preston came back from college to visit. His parents know Paxton won't be getting any academic scholarships, but they're counting on him to have scouts fighting over him. The only problem is, Paxton is struggling to make it through the year. None of his friends or family know how hard he really struggles. Only ever in her dreams did she move so slowly; it was like trying to walk through a pool of molasses. Still, she couldn't convince herself it wasn't real. She walked and walked, trying to figure out where she was. The air around her was cold and thick, fog made it impossible to see any further than a few feet. Mary tried to call out for help, but when she spoke, her voice was lost in the mist. Panic began to build in her throat and she screamed at the top of her lungs, but no sound came out. Tears began to fall down her cheeks as she ran forward, clawing at the air like she could pull it further enough away to reveal a clearing. A dim light appeared ahead and Mary sprinted towards it. She approached a glowing silhouette, the shape was familiar of a man. "Father?" She murmured hardly above a whisper. The ghost of her father stepped closer and she saw what was nothing more than a pale image of the man that used to be her father. His outline was only a shade darker than the fog itself. A sob escaped her lips as she stumbled towards him, but he raised his hands to stop her. 'Run child,' He warned, his voice echoing throughout her ears. Confusion overcame her and she continued forward. Each step she took, her father's figure retreated. "Please, father! Stay!" Mary begged through tears. The figure stood still; gloom engulfed the features of her father and he lowered his eyes to meet hers. 'The deeper you enter the world of the dead, the further away you will be from the living.' He told her softly. 'Go back.' Before her very eyes, her father's form disintegrated and blew into the fog. She stood alone. She fell to her knees, dropping her head in her hands. Her tears pooled into a body of water, washing up to her waist. When Mary raised her head, she saw the fog thinning and she was at the Black Lake at Hogwarts. Shakily, she got to her feet and turned to depart to the castle, but something stopped her. She remembered this clearly, and she wanted to wake up, but she could not. 'Where do you think you're going, Macdonald?' A cold voice called out to her. Mary knew what would happen if she stayed, so she turned to run. Never in her life did she sprint so fast, but it wasn't fast enough. Mulciber caught her by her hair. With his wand and a few words, he dropped her into a bottomless abyss of suffering. She was drowning in pain. Her skin was peeling off, the heat was scalding her everywhere on her body. Mary screamed just as she did before, but no sound came out. Cruel laughter was all she could hear. Death's face came closer, but she was not afraid. Her father was wrong, what could be worse than this? Certainly not death. She invited Death forward. Mary jumped upwards from her bed. Her room was dark, and her roommates were sleeping soundly. Thankfully, she hadn't screamed during this nightmare. Instinctively, her hands searched her face and neck. There were no bruises, no cuts or blood. It had all been a dream. And yet, it had not been. At least not the second part. Mulciber really did attack her with dark magic, and she was in such pain, she wished for death. But that was over three years ago. Nevertheless, the haunting memory stalked her even in her sleep. She wiped the cold sweat off of her forehead and sat up. There was no use trying to go back to sleep now; she never could after nightmares. Mary saw it was still dark outside, but she got dressed for the morning. She slipped on a skirt and blouse, then stepped into a pair of shoes. As quietly as possible, she tiptoed towards the door, grabbed her coat, and left the dormitory. The castle of Hogwarts was soundly asleep. Mary made her way to the ground floor of the castle, then departed outside. Her dream took place at the Black Lake, where her attack also took place. Any person with common sense would avoid the center of their nightmares, but not Mary. She needed to confront her fears in order to put her mind at ease. Still, she couldn't shake what her father said in her dream. She wasn't trying to die like he suggested, only that one time when she was being tortured did she wish to be dead. It wasn't the first time he said that to her in her dreams, but she could never understand why. Mary let out a small sigh; she shouldn't even bother attempting to make sense of her dreams, she had been telling herself that for years now. When Mary reached the lake, she looked down at the grass, almost expecting to see her blood staining the ground. But there was nothing there, only green grass. She sat down near the edge, staring at her reflection. The water was as still as glass. It showed her image as if she was looking in a mirror. Small girl with tired eyes, purple rings proving a sleepless night. Mary reached forward, dipping the tips of her fingers in the cool water. Ripples bounced against the surface, disturbing the stillness and the girl in the water broke into pieces.
