PERSONAL STYLE - Sloppy, to say the last. He can clean up nice - but rarely chooses to. Tee's and jeans make up more or less his entire wardrobe. Shopping is not Kohaku's area, in fact he never has done it - the clothes he wears are hand-me-down's from his best friend who always has more then enough to spare for the other. THE PERSONALITY, LIKES - Reading. Cookin. Children. Music. Outdoors. DISLIKES - Rules. Fighting. Ties. Hospitals. Being late. STRENGTHS - Guitar (one of the few things he can play). Bi-lingual. Medical related things. WEAKNESSES - Doesn't let other's close. Can't lie. Overly flirtatious. Works too hard. Forgives are too easily. GOALS - To have a large family. To become a teacher. One his father, the others Jed's from their time in the military. OVERALL - Kohaku is a friendly type - he see's nothing wrong with talking to someone he has never met, and even starting the conversation. He keeps an open mind, and open ears, often finding himself the one that people in need of advice go to. Not that he minds - the man adores being able to help out another and such. It is not hard to become his friend, though being a close one takes work. Kohaku cares deeply for those he lets close, and it's a very loyal and protective friend. He hates fighting, almost a pacifist but for a friend he will do what it takes to aid or protect them - even if it means having to raise a hand against another. Kohaku seems to have a very calm personality, easy to smile and laugh, often trying to cause the same for others. He is easy to get along with, and a generous boy - though very much a big brother type. Kohaku often takes people 'under his wing' and always tries to care for others - both older and younger then him. He has a parental side that never seems to go away. Of course, he has many bad sides as well. Though he cares for both older and younger, he always treats them the same. To a elder, he will treat them as a child, and continue to do so until they prove otherwise - prove themselves an adult in Kohaku's eyes. He is also blunt, even when it can be a bit much - he just simply cannot lie. At all. When he tries, teh boy often stammers over his words and struggles until the truth spills out. So, he has grown use to simply being blunt -- though when he does have something he doesn't wish to speak of, such as himself or the secret of another, he tends to dance around the words and change the subject to something in hopes of distracting the other. Kohaku is a very secretive man - he never speaks of himself, to anyone, in fact he really only likes people to know his name and that he is from france - beyond that, he keeps everything about himself. From his past down to the very foods he likes. Most of the time he is unaware of this action, though other times he finds it fun to mess with people. Ko can be a bit of a bully - he loves to friendly tease people, though never harshly. He tends to tease the people he is attracted to the most - his flirting is more so a form a teasing. Though, flirting with him can be a tad difficult - he at times can be rather dense and sometimes won't realize when someone is meaning something behind their words or actions. It's just him being a bit of an airhead though. THE BACKGROUND, ETHNICITY - French. PARENTS - Mother: Gytea Chevalier - Thirty-six - Deceased. Father: Ryoji Nakahara - Thirty-eight - Deceased Step-Father: Darrol Chevalier - Thirty-Nine - Alive? SIBLING(S) - Sister: Kerina Chevalier - Fifteen - Alive Brother: Chevalier - Ten - Alive PET(S) - N/A OTHER(S) - Cousin: Craig Stone - Nineteen - Alive GENERAL HISTORY - There is nothing better then to start a story with a scandal, but that is how Ko's does - even if it really can't be called such. Which Kohaku was from, old traditions were held on to through the years, and like all the women in her family, his mother was having a planned marriage. This was fine and dandy, but the woman had a sweet behind locked doors and had for a while. Even after she met her husband - Darroll - and they were married, she would visit her sweet. her husband was not a fool - less then nine months after their marriage she gave birth to a boy and he knew it was not his. The child looked nothing like him, but very much like the dear man who he had seen his wife with more then once without her knowledge. That is why the child has the name 'Kohaku'. A Japanese one, like the blood in his father. Darroll gave him a foreign name, one that would mark him as a black sheep to the family - his wife as in no position to argue. As the child was raised though, she called him 'Amber' the translation to the name and more then once she took the child to see his real rather, the kind man who adored the boy. The visits stopped when Kohaku was eight though - he still does not know what happened, nor had his mother, only that during one of his travels, a friend sent them a letter of apology, telling them that he had passed away gave his condolences. Kohaku never tried to learn what happened, he merely let it settle. Growing up was a bit rough for Kohaku - Him and his step-father were perfect ice and fire, fighting each other on everything. The boy became his step-father's outlet for anger, and as they grew it only got worse. At first it was words and threats - then yelling and a bit of shoving but still to escalated to raised hands and many covered up bruises. Kohaku took it all - because he had two younger siblings, and his fear of them getting hurt hardly matched the sting of a bruise. When things got too bad, the boy would leave the house and seek refuge among the friends had made over the years. A older boy who was named Arion, a younger mute named Machi, a scruffy troubled one named Koota and a rather sickly bedridden boy named Kei. All of them lived with the sick boy's father, who took in street kids. He loved his time with them, having known Koota since he was very small and looked to Jed as a father figure. He thought of them all as family - a way more functional one then his own. He spent every day after school he could at that home, and weekends. However - he had his own family to return and his own sick family member that was not the Kei boy. It was actually his mother. After the birth of Kyra, she became very weak and not shockingly very ill. It was a rollercoaster, her often becoming healthy and fine but then later that week far too weak to even step out of bed. So Kohaku jumped from these two homes, often busying himself. He helped nurse his mother, while watching out for Kyra and Kerina - then along side that helped the other boys care for Kei when eh could and helped them try to raise little Machi, a boy the same age as his baby brother. Things were busy, very fast paced and often Kohaku could barely think. It all changed though. A day his mother was feeling strong, Kohaku was thrilled - it had been a while since she looked so well - and he begged her to leave the house with him. They called Jed - who had become quite a good friend to Gytea since he met Kohaku, and even brought little Kyra as they headed to tthe park. It was a bright, beautiful day - the whole thing. They had a picnic at the park, played around a lake there and Gytea even played in the shallow water with her youngest boy. It was a beautiful day and around late afternoon is when they headed home. That is when the beautiful day came to an end. A car crashed in to their own head on. It was a moment that you only have a second to react. Kohaku barely remembers what happened - merely that Jed shouted and tried to veer the car before there was that shattering sound - that is when Kohaku felt two things. He felt the sudden impact, and how Kyra clung as his older brother leaned his body over him. There isn't really anything he can recall - he barely recalled that. He woke in the hospital later, on a monitor and patched up. The nurse wouldn't allow him to move, apparently he had gotten hurt badly. That is when the boy was told of what happened - the only thing that helped him slightly remember. During the crash, he had leaned over Kyra to try and protect him - when the wind-shield shattered, his back was hit by lots of the glass that made it into the back. He was to not move - but he didn't need to move. Kyra was beside his bed, just a few minor cuts and clinging to Kohaku. Kei was there was well, for once out of home but he looked horrible - it was that boy's appearance that Kohaku knew what happened without words. The pair had both lost their parents - To Kohaku, his mother was his only parent, but for Kei, Jed really was his only. It was a shock - and for a long time after, everything felt like a blur. The funeral happened after Kohaku was admitted from the hospital and was rather small -- Darroll didn't go. It angered Kohaku terribly, enough that he exploded at the man once he caught him at their house. It was a terrible fight, a violent one that caused Kohaku to leave the house. These days though, sometimes he wonders if he didn't just use the fight as an excuse. Kerina didn't stop him - she encouraged him and though Kyra tried to stop him.. the boy let go. Kohaku moved into Kei's home - he felt he owed it to Jed. He did his best to help the others raise the sick child, and never returned home - enough that he changed his last name. He also did something else new - he got ink, a tattoo of the words 'même dans la mort peut vous être triomphante' which translates to even in death may you be triumphant. under these words are small dates, of those he lost that he never wants to forget the day of. Kohaku lived with them for a time, until Kei became too ill for their simple care. The boys did their best, but they were young and had to get him to a hospital - that is when Darroll appeared again. He offered them his aid, though Kohaku would have to return to their home - in a way. His step-father was a well known man within Kohaku's hometown, owning a hospital chain and being clever enough to get in a favour of the local political fellows. It meant that he was own in the public's eyes - he kept up a mask of a family man, good for business. That is why he wouldn't have Kohaku off running around on his own. So, he bribed the boy. If he attended certain, he would help the sick boy. He didn't hesitate to agree - Kohaku had promised to do anything to care for Kei to his father. So, he was sent to California, to attend some high-end school. His step-father bought him a small apartment in which he was to live until he graduated - then he would attend a college that his step-father saw fit. In all honesty, Kohaku doesn't regret his choice. Kei is getting healthier, he got away from his father and well, frankly, the fresh start gave him a chance. TO forget all the insanity, to start anew and normal. He didn't mind that at all.. plus this school seemed fun. THE PUPPETEER, YOUR NAME - Razz. EXPERIENCE - Five/six years OTHER CHARACTER(S) - Nope DISCOVERY - Ad on a site I was looking at ACTIVATION CODES - you've fallen for me. THE ROLEPLAY SAMPLE, Seeing the woman.. Kohaku eased a bit. So she was home.. as the door opened and he stepped in, he didn’t say any words. He glanced around a moment and saw the lack of that tiny boy – he was probably sleeping. So it was just him and her, which eased him more. He would not want to speak with that child around. The English teacher never seemed to talk of any matters when children were around; it was just a habit of his, he didn’t like to bring issues and the like around children, it just wasn’t right. There was just them though, someone he trusted.. And it was enough for him to break a bit. As the woman gently touched his arm, Kohaku took a breath, then moved his arms to lightly wrap around the woman. He held her close a moment, his face gently tucked against her hair, still silent a moment. After a bit, he uttered a weak apology and pulled away a bit, but his hands rested on her shoulders, just looking his co-worker over for a moment. “I..” He frowned, a slow sigh ad he just shook his head, almost unsure /what/ he was just trying to say. “I did not know where else to turn. Everyone here is just so..” The frown stayed and he swallowed lightly, not dropping his hands yet, but then finally did, nodding. “..A drink would be wonderful..” He swallowed lightly and took a step back, his hand softly rubbing at his forehead, clearly rather.. upset by something. “ I am sorry.. for coming here so suddenly.. I.. you were time first person I thought of.. “ He hesitated for a moment. “You would understand, unlike others..” With that, his words fell away. He took a seat in the spot made for him, his eyes on the ground for a moment, before looking up to silently watch the woman, rather calmed after that moment of almost cracking. Yes, the mask slipped for a moment. The man who always seemed to have a stoic look, lacking in normal responses.. Kohaku liked to appear calm, to be in control and indifferent. Well, this situation was quite different. After all, everyone reached a breaking point, and most weren’t like Kohaku, to keep pushing and pushing when that breaking point had already been passed. It showed though, he was starting to realize. In his actions, in his body. When things became like this, he buried himself in work, which only did it’s best to affect his health and weight.. Kohaku knew he was rather unhealthy at the moment, but he also knew he couldn’t’ get better till he dealt with the issues that were covering it. At least he wasn’t ignoring it any long CREDITS, this profile template is copyrighted to RISSA for TEOG and is not to be redistributed or copied in any way, shape or form. thank you. [/style] |
