[/color][/font]when first meeting asher the one thing you'll soon find out is what a hard-worker he is. asher is always striving to be the best in whatever it is he's doing. he hates falling into second place to anyone especially his brother. he's constantly studying and working hard to make sure he always stays on top. studying and school work use to be his life but he's trying to break out of that shell and try new things. he wants to do something fun for once and not care so much about school. asher really wants to finally live his life and do something that he doesn't even expect. new york is giving him a second chance at life pretty much.
when it comes to people asher is definitely on the quiet reserved side. he's pretty shy especially when first meeting people. he never knows the right things to say or do so he tries his best to be friendly. most people think he's a bit cold at first because he seems disconnected from the conversation but that isn't it at all. it's just difficult for asher to make friends with new people. it's hard for him to relate to other people and he just ends up being on his own and not really making friends. and he never really seems to find time to make friends because he's always working on something. he's more of a behind the scene type guy that you don't really bother with because he always seems busy with something. growing up asher never really had that many friends and even though he's trying to change his ways its harder than he thought it would be.

OVERALL HISTORY:
ashery william reynolds and lydia avery reynolds were born to noelle and benjamin reynolds on march twenty-second sixteen years ago. they had been trying to have children for years after their first child carson. neither parent expected to have twins but were thrilled when they had found out.
growing up in the reynolds family was rather difficult for asher. both of his parents were doctors and his brother was on the same track. his brother seemed perfect, everything he did was always perfect. and all of asher efforts just didn't seem as good. even though asher was getting straight a's in school carson was winning awards for projects he did, essays, he seemed to win everything. trying to live up to a person like him was frustrating and was pretty much driving asher crazy. his twin sister on the other hand didn't seem to take it as seriously as he did. he tried so hard to out do his brother and spent all his time studying on his own. asher never went out and had fun because he knew that having fun would just but his brother even more ahead of him. when asher and lydia turned 12 instead of everyone celebrating their birthday and being happy for them they were all celebrating his brothers acceptance into a prestigious college that both of his parents had also gone too. after that all their time was focused on him and getting him ready for college, everyone seemed to just forget that asher was around. lydia was off making friends and having a good time while asher was always in the background. she was perfect in their father's eyes while everything asher did just didn't seem to be enough.
that summer before his brother went to college asher went into his mothers medicine cabinet and stole all the pills he could find. he went into his room and waited until everyone was asleep and took as many as he could. he wasn't sure how many pills he swallowed but as soon as he was finished everything went black. but his mother came into his room and found him on the floor and immediately rushed him to the hospital. even though asher was angry that his attempt failed he was also relieved that he hadn't actually died. his parents couldn't believe what had happened and spent the entire time at the hospital worried about what was going to happen to their son. once he was released from the hospital asher never revealed the real reason he had tried to kill himself. he didn't want carson to feel guilty because even though living in his brothers shadow was difficult he still loved his brother. he wasn't sure if carson could handle the fact asher tried killing himself because of him. when his parents realized that they had been putting pressure on him they tried everything to make him stop feeling that way. instead of comparing him to his brother and sister they just tried to praise him on whatever it was he was doing.
but unfortunately his suicide attempt was putting a strain on his parents marriage. they were always fighting on ways to help him and were blaming each other for things that they didn't even understand. asher sunk into a deeper depression when he realized that this had all been his fault. if he had just died like he had intended he thought that they would possibly be happier right now. but whenever he seemed to have those thoughts he tried thinking to himself that they obviously didn't want him dead and he deserved to be alive. eventually after a year of constant fighting his parents decided to call it quits. even though they told him it wasn't his fault it was hard for asher to believe. they decided to split up the twins and having asher go with his mother and lydia with her father. his father and lydia ended up moving away. everything was really different without his father and sister around. asher was home schooled for the first year after his suicide attempt but then for his junior year he was finally ready to go back to school. his mother ended up sending him to harbour because of it's good reputation and the fact that he could start out with a clean slate. but at the same time when they decided all of this his father and lydia moved back and she was enrolled to go to the same school as him.
