sydney is an overall rather happy person. she doesn't really care what other people think of her as long as she's happy with herself. she loves being surrounded by people and can probably be called a social butterfly. she's the type of girl that will come up to you and introduce herself. she makes friends rather easily and tends to treat people as though they've been friends forever. sydney loves to see the people around her happy and goes out of her way to make to ensure their happiness. the most important people to her would have to be her friends and family. she is a rather loyal friends and will stand by their side no matter what the situation. especially the people she can cal her best friends.
when it comes to guys sydney has never had too much experience because her dad always forbade her to date. she tends to treat guys as friends and never really wants to get into anything too serious. she's never been in a relationship, she hasn't even had her first kiss yet. sydney isn't ashamed of any of that but she doesn't announce it to everyone she meets thats for sure. dating was just something she honestly was never that interested in which most people found to be very shocking considering shes a teenager.

elizabeth rae clarke, 40, anthropology professor

carter jonah clarke, older brother, 22, college student
OTHER FAMILY: --
PETS: none
OVERALL HISTORY:
when bailey and elizabeth were just in their twenties they decided to get married. they had met by chance when bailey had been stood up on his date and elizabeth happened to be his waitress. they spent the entire night talking and before they knew it they were in a relationship. they had only been daiting a couple of months before bailey finally popped the question. the whole situation was completely unlike either of them but for some reason it just felt so right for the moment. they decided to elope and get married as soon as possible. they kept the marriage a secret from their families which they knew would never approve. the couple were both still in college but ended up having their first child carter anyways. it was difficult to raise a kid and go to college at the same time but they had the help of their parents who disapproved of the marriage as soon as they had found out about it. even though they were reluctant to help they couldn't leave their children out there on their own. bailey and elizabeth couldn't help but want to start a family together. they thought they were so perfect for each other and having children would just be another way to represent how much love they had for each other. they waited a few years and till they were out of college to have their second child sydney grace clarke. they decided to name her sydney because that was the name that bailey's sister jenny insisted on. she went to the city and fell in love with it as she took photos of everything they saw. as for grace that was the name elizabeth thought went well with it.
as a kid her curiosity tended to get the better of her. she always found herself in difficult situations but couldn't help getting excited while she tried to find a way out. she was always getting grounded by her mother because she was such a trouble maker. she even ended up breaking a few bones which gave her parents so many hospital bills that they didn't know what to do with them. sydney was a very active child and could be found doing almost anything from climbing trees to digging in a sand box. and sydney seemed to draw a crowd with whatever she happened to be doing. even as a child making friends was rather easy for sydney. she was the type of kid that was extremely honest and just said whatever came to her mind. she was the complete opposite of her older brother carter. he was the quiet type that kept to himself and would much rather read a book in his room than go out and play. her father seemed to think sydney needed to be more like him and was always trying to change her. sydney and her father never really did seem to get along, they never could see eye to eye on things. the both of them were so stubborn that they always ended up arguing about everything. but to keep the two from going to far sydney's mother elizabeth was always getting in between them.
their relationship continued on that way for a while especially when sydney started high school. that was when her father really began to stress how important her work was. he wanted her to get into the best of colleges (according to his standards of course) and wouldn't let her waste her life away. even though sydney had great grades they never seemed to be enough for her father. he was the type that just wanted to see perfect grades and nothing else. he spared no expense if it was towards her education. if she needed a tutor he'd get one, new calculator there in no time, and anything else she needed would be provided for her. money was never an issue in the household because of the status of sydney's grandparents. but her mother who came from a struggling household was never one to spend frivolously so she tried to keep things in priority. she couldn't stand when bailey spent too much and bailey couldn't stand when elizabeth didn't want to spend. it seemed as though everything the other one did ended up in an argument. the both spent so much time arguing that sydney and carter normally spent all their time together instead. they would always find something to do to keep themselves busy and out of the house when their parents were angry at each other.
but then carter went off to college and sydney had nobody there to keep her grounded. carter was the one that she went to for almost everything and he was the one that always cheered her up after an argument with her father. even though they kept in touch it just wasn't the same having him live in another state. after many arguments regarding her grades sydney started rebel and do things she never thought she would. the first thing was dying her hair a bright and fiery red. her parents left for work and when they came back they saw what she had done but no matter how hard they tried she refused to dye it back. she just couldn't help do those little things that she knew would drive her father up the wall. she just had two more years before she was graduated and out of the house.

WON'T CRY FOR MY SOLITUDE

it's just something i really love doing she told him honestly. even though most people thought art was just a hobby for her it was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life. she wanted to do this every day until her fingers couldn't pick up a paint brush. she knew it wasn't the most practical of professions but sydney enjoyed it none the less. she paused her sketching and stretched her hand which was beginning to cramp up. she had been doing alot of sketching lately for a contest that she had heard about and it was starting to take a toll on her hand. as she waited for her hang to stop cramping up she sighed and hoped that she would finish up her sketch soon so she could end up painting it. pushing some hair out of her face she stretched her arms before pulling them back towards her sketch book. picking up the pencil one more time she sketched but slower this time not wanting to get another cramp so soon. she looked at him for a moment surprised that he was being so submissive. the same guy who was ready to smoke a cigarette even though he knew he would get himself into trouble. maybe he wasn't such a stubborn guy after all. so far he didn't smoke and was being mildly polite. here she was thinking she was going to have to deal with a complete ass hole for the rest of this class period.
the more she thought about it the more she realized that she wasn't sure if he would be offended if she asked him that type of question. she knew how rumors tended to get out of hands and the person that they were about couldn't do much to stop it. hopefully he didn't mind answering the question because she honestly was interested. there was no denying that sydney was a bit jealous of his free life style. if he wanted to party he went and he partied. if there was a girl he wanted to sleep with he went ahead and did it. his life just seemed like he was having so much more fun than your average high school kid. well at least that's what she heard she wasn't quite sure if it was the complete truth. she glanced over at him for a moment and he was frowning and sydney assumed that she had did what she hadn't meant to. before she could take back her question he answered. she listened as she sketched and all he did was talk about sports and hanging out with his friends. well now that wasn't as fun as she was hoping when she first had asked the question. people really do seem to enjoy talking about you she told him with a casual shrug. she couldn't help but pay attention to some of them no matter how hard she tried not to. she wasn't sure how many of them she believed maybe this was her opportunity to find out. you know artsy stuff, things like that she said with a small smile. she probably was never going to let that go. but that was what she did with most of her time. it was either school work or drawing something in the studio she had in her attic. if she had things her way she would probably be out doing something much more interesting with all the time she had. going out to see things she could only imagine or read about in books. traveling was something she really wanted to do. travel and paint everything that she saw around her.
i wonder how much i know about you is true she said mostly thinking out loud. he already suspected she knew much so she may as well admit to knowing about most of the rumors that were going around. being popular must be so much more difficult than it seemed. but then again all the rumors probably helped him get more girls. shrugging it off she was more curious to how he felt about the rumors. some people loved them because they kept people thinking about them. then you had the people who hated them but still seemed to benefit from what people were saying.
