DISLIKES: obnoxious people, highschool, classes, feeling nervous, playing most sports, people placing judgements or stereotypes on others, top 40 music, the colour pink, her mother.
STRENGTHS: confident, smart, charming, can outsmoke anyone, passionate, adventurous.
WEAKNESSES: stubborn, holds grudges, drives too fast, outspoken, does poorly in school
HABITS/QUIRKS: she gets a lot of piercings and then takes them out when she changes her mind frequently, she bites her nails when she's nervous, and she refuses to get close to most people.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Effy doesn't take highschool seriously. She's been in and out of different schools, and has come out with one single idea-- it's not the clique, it's the people. She realizes that there are people in the school that are people of depth and are interesting as hell. And then thetrer are people that are only focused on their image, and she has no intention of spending her time trying to impress people like that.
Adventurous a good word for her, she is always doing things that would probably seem daunting to other people. She doesn't do a lot of thinking beforehand when she attempts a new task. In fact, she doesn't give much thought to the future at all, only being a junior in highschool. She's not stupid, she just doesn't try in her classes. Effy simply doesn't have the motivation to do well, despite threats from her father. Her mother has given her several opportunities to do modeling with her-- Eff basically says that her mother is trying to bribe her into tolerating the company of her mother-- but she does keep the offer in the back of her mind, in case she actually does need something that will provide her with some money.
Around friends, Effy is fiercely loyal. She has her close friends, and she will do anything for them. Around everyone else, she just appears to not particularly care, and has an effortless sort of friendliness that draws people in. She doesn't get close to a lot of people-- this includes signifigant others. Every relationship that she's been in has ended because she couldn't bring herself to expose vulnerabilities to her boyfriend. She's only had one relationship where she has done this-- and he ended up leaving.

OVERALL HISTORY:
Effy was born to her two parents in Boston, Massachsuetts. They got married because Eff's mother was pregnant, at the time, she aws devastated because a child at her young age in her profession would probably ruin her. It was a big scandal in the area, and eventually the family moved away so that Stephen could gain a greater amount of business for his office-- so they moved to New York, land of the Yankees and of stressed out people. After about three years of being married in New York, the two split up-- leaving Stephen with his daughter and Maria escaped to LA. She rarely visited her daughter, and eventually Effy started to severely dislike the woman. Especially when she realized that her father didn't have the capacity in him to actually give her that much attention. But as soon as she realized this, she got over it, and started spending less and less time at home and more time with her friends.
Effy grew up without her mother, the woman was merely a card with money on her birthday. She went through middle school with little incident, but also little parenting. At this point, both her parents were extremely successful with the jobs that they were doing, so Effy lived a life of very little difficulty. She lived in a luxury apartment with her father on the upper east side, and got along quite nicely with some of the girls in her class. Somehow she still managed to get into trouble, though, at the private school in New York that she was attending. She started going out with three girls that she had befriended, and they were the type to sneak into nightclubs or use fake ids. Her father had no idea of her activities because he was so wrapped up in his business deals and working. Her grades were decent, she worked to keep them up so her father wouldn't realize that she was getting into trouble.
Everything was fine until one of the girls brought weed into school, they didn't want to leave it at home. And because it was there, the foursome felt that it was necessary to partake. Effy, in her usual adventurous spirit partook in the festivities, and got high for the first time in the bathroom of her middle school. This was the last time until she picked up the habit again sophomore year. Anyways, smell of the smoke was hard to conceal, especially since the girls had so brilliantly decided to roll a joint-- this contributing to more smoke. They got caught, and she got kicked out in eighth grade, and her father moved her to a private school in the north east. She still texts her friends from NY once in a while, and has visited them once.
She didn't do any better at this school, she made many friends, partied too much, and eventually ended up stealing a boat with her best friend. She took the blame for it because he was a student that was on scholarship. Her dad was quite upset with her, but since he was absent so frequently, he realized that she needed closer parenting. So he moved to the O.C. enrolled her into a private school-- a school that barely accepted her because of her record-- and she began for her junior year.

If any one had asked her, Effy probably wouldn't have told them. But she really enjoyed being by herself. Especially on warm nights like these, where the beach was calling and she had some free time and no classes in the morning. Watching the sunset was nice and all, but there were always sketchy couples doing couple-y things on the beach and it depressed her. Not that she wanted a relationship (seeing as how well her last one had turned out), but it would still be nice to cuddle and have someone to say cute things to her. Did she miss her ex? Fuck, why was she even thinking about this? Shaking her head, the girl stretched out, seeking a more comfortable position on the mexican blanket that she had brought with her to the shore. She had parked her red jeep up in the lot, and had been laying on the sand for about an hour.
It was honestly starting to get a little lonely, but she didn't really mind. None of her other buddies were around, she had really wanted to find someone to smoke with but that hadn't happened. So instead she had bought a pack of black and milds at the gas station and a new lighter with a trippy green and purple pattern. She had considered buying rolling papers, but decided against it.
Laying there on the blanket, Effy appraised her outfit with a quick upward glance. She was wearing her indie-kid finest, when Effy had dressed herself earlier that day it was with an amused sort of smirk that she had pulled her black slouchy cotton, it fell off one shoulder exposing her tiedye bikini underneath. and she wore cuttoff denim shorts that she had cut herself, they were a little uneven and probably too short but she liked them nonetheless. On her wrist was the large amount of random bracelets, most made of embroidery floss but some with weird beads. She seemed to collect them throughout recent years.
It was perfect for the warm weather, and Effy realized this. Tucking her sweatshirt under her head, she looked at the sky. The sun was now completely set, and it was starting to look like actual night. Flicking her new lighter on and off, she considered taking the safety off.
The morning was going to come early. She wasn't looking forward to getting up and going to school. Rolling the idea of skipping her first class around in her head, she decided against it. She had already missed too many classes and it was early in the year. Stupid, the girl thought to herself, that she had to even go to school. While some classes were interesting, most of the teachers hated their jobs and hated the students even more. Why bother learning from someone that doesn't even enjoy what their teaching, where was the point, exactly?
