THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE READING THE RULES, NUMBER ONE - we're treating the site like a baseball game, there is a three strike policy for all of the rules (in and out of character) unless stated otherwise. NUMBER TWO - the rules may be updates from time to time, the date of the most recent revision will be written in the title of this thread. if the date changes, please go read the revisions, you don't want to accidentally break rules because you weren't informed. that's no fun. THE GENERAL RULES, RULE ONE - respect everyone! we’re all friends here and we’re all here for the same reason, to have fun. outside roleplaying, this isn’t high school and it shouldn’t be treated as such. if there’s someone/something that you really don’t like, try to avoid contact with them/it. if that’s not possible, then take it up with either a staff member or the person in PM, DO NOT MAKE IT PUBLIC. if an issue is made public and it because the cause of fighting, the instigator(s) will banned immediately. NO EXCEPTIONS. RULE TWO - harassment or prejudice of any kind (i.e.: race, religious views, political views, sexual orientation) will NOT be tolerated. failure to follow this rule will result in an immediate ban on the first offence. NO EXCEPTIONS! RULE THREE - the site is rated PG-13. any content posted that surpasses this rating will be removed immediately. NO EXCEPTIONS. if one particular member continuously posts inappropriate content, their account(s) will be terminated after the third strike. RULE FOUR - do not steal! the staff and the members all worked very hard to create their own original characters, plots, and over methods that they use. furthermore, stealing from other sites for this site is prohibited as well. either way, whether you steal from or for this site, we will find out. we have our ways. so don’t take the risk and don’t steal. if someone is caught stealing anything of any kind from our site or from another site, it will result in an immediate ban. RULE FIVE - be active. PLEASE. if you’re not going to be active, don’t join. people who register and disappear all of a sudden are so unbelievably irritating to the staff and to the members as well. we don’t want to have to do the work of reading you application, adding you to all the rosters, just so you can leave a few days later and never return. so be courteous. join and be active, or don’t join. RULE SIX - if you need to leave the site for an extended period of time for any reason, please post in the absences board. if it turns out that you will be gone longer than expected, please try and find the time to get on the site and keep us updated. if an activity check rolls around and you are past your expected absense time or didn't even bother to post on the absense board at all, your profile will be deleted and you will lose your character(s)and all your claimes. NO EXCEPTIONS! THE CHARACTER RULES, RULE ONE - each character you have must have its own separate account. NO EXCEPTIONS. RULE TWO - when posting your application the title must look like this: "LAST, FIRST MIDDLE". this must be your characters FULL name, meaning no nicknames (there is a place for that in the app). RULE THREE - character applications must have the proper coding before being reviewed. you MAY NOT change the coding in any way, shape, or form. if there is an accedental error we will have you fix it and if you can't figure out how to, we will have a staff member fix it for you. RULE FOUR - no one is perfect in real life, meaning no character should be perfect here either. no one like mary-sues and gary-stews, so do us all a favor and give your character some fears and flaws. if your character seems too perfect we have the right to ask you to revise it. RULE FIVE - you may not claim ANYTHING until after your character has been approved. however you may reserve your play-by before hand. RULE SIX - you may not post in-character until your application has been approved, your member group has been changed, your app link put in, you've posted on and have been added to the rosters, and your face is claimed. once all that has been completed you are free to start your role playing experience. RULE SEVEN - you may register with whatever username you would like, however once your character is accepted your display name must read "FIRST MIDDLE LAST" in all capitals like shown. RULE EIGHT - please do not pester the staff to look at your application. if we don't view it within three days, you may send us ONE pm reminding us. after that we will definitely look at it and most likely pm you back. RULE NINE - please have at least 10 in character posts before creating your next character. THE POSTING RULES, RULE ONE - because we are an intermediate/advanced role play we have set our minimum word to 400 words per post. to fit this requirement you need to be descriptive! that is the only way you will be able to make 400 words or more. if your having a bad day and don't think you can make it to at least 400 words, don't post! it's that simple. wait until your muse is high again and post, not only will it make you look better as a writer but it will also give the people you role play with more to work with when they post. RULE TWO - do not, under any circumstances, post an imcomplete or work-in-progress post. that's just annoying to the people you role play with. if you really can't finish your post in one shot, save it to a microsoft word document or PM it to yourself and pick it back up when you get the chance. if you do post an imcomplete post a staff member will delete your post immediately. NO EXCEPTIONS! RULE THREE - do not double post or bump. it's annoying and takes away from the beauty of the site. if you feel that the person that you want to see your thread hasn't seen it yet, PM them. RULE FOUR - you control your character(s) no one elses. the only way you are allowed to speak/act for another member is if you a retelling something they have already described. RULE FIVE - all in-character posts are to be in third person. it is the easiest to interpret and understand. if you feel differently, we apologize, but we will not change this rule for any reason. RULE SIX - correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. is a NON-NEGOTIABLE. when you write up a post, think of it as writing a book, not a text message. RULE SEVEN - if you are planning on making your character pregnant please PM a staff member first. also please have the father character PM the same staff member saying that he has consented to this. THE GRAPHICS RULES RULE ONE - coding in your posting is allowed, in fact we encourage it because it makes your posts look more original. however, if you post any coding that streches out the site or completely clashes with it, we will ask you to remove/replace it to a more appropriate one. RULE TWO - avatars and signatures MUST be of or related to your characters. avatars may be no smaller than 100X100 and no bigger than 150X200 - any larger than that stretches out the miniprofile and makes it look ugly. signatures cannot be bigger than 550 in width and all signatures must be centered (). if your images exceed these ranges you will be asked to replace/remove the images. RULE THREE - do not change any official coding of the site when posting applications. and when posting in claims remember to post it in . you will not be added to the claims or the rosters if you do not do so and you will get a PM from a staff member telling you to fix your post.THE CBOX RULES, RULE ONE - no spamming. if we find that you are spamming you will be suspended from the c-box for the rest of the day. don't believe we can do that? we have our ways. RULE TWO - absolutely no advertising in the cbox. advertisments will result in a suspention for an entire week. RULE THREE - do not post in-character in the OOC cbox. that is what the IC cbox is for.
